      Abstract
With the increasing relevance of the case study research methodology to problem solving in real-life business situations, this dissertation documented a case study on Veritas Software Corporation, Shanghai Office's (VRTS) market challenges, in China's software industry. More specifically, the main objective would be to apply selected western theories to Veritas' challenges in China, to demonstrate how successfully these theories could be integrated with its business practices in the current business environment of China.
