The informational content of 'non-rated' issuer ratings

This paper examines a distinct category of issuers ratings by the Standard & Poor’s credit rating agency – the event of ‘Non-rated’ or ‘NR’ designations. Interest generated in this topic stems from the general believe that issuers who are dissatisfied with S&P’s proposed issuer ratings are likely to publish an ‘NR’ rating at a given point in time.
