dc.description.abstractWith the advancement in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), cities, countries and many places in the world developed into smart cities with the help of smart sensors. Ceramics, a very common material, found in most smart sensors has been evolving as well. It has a critical evolution from stoneware to pottery and glass and now even used in applications like the space shuttle that consists advance ceramic materials. This final year report will examine the possible properties of ceramic such as mechanical, electrical, thermal and optical. It will then delve into the principle and mechanism of different type of smart sensors like the ceramic pressure sensor, ceramic temperature sensor and ceramic humidity sensor that uses advanced ceramic materialsen_US
