      Abstract
Organic based lithium ion batteries provide an alternative way to replace conventional lithium ions batteries due to their capable of providing high specific energy, high gravimetric energy, economical substances and environmental friendly. Organic carbonyl compounds, due to their multi-electrons ability and its structural flexibility which believe to be potential positive electrode in lithium ion batteries. In this study, NDA-4N (naphthalenetetracarboxylic dianhydride with four nitrogen atoms) with LiNO3 additive and NDA-4N without LiNO3 additive at different voltage level were used to analyse their electrochemical performance. This study reveals that the ineffectiveness of LiNO3 additive at high voltage level which provide no significant improvement in electrochemical performances.
