In the past few decades, technology about life sciences developed very rapidly. The research on in vivo imaging helps scientists understand the mystery of life and helped a lot to human health. Optical imaging is one of the hot topics in this field. However, small maximum imaging depth is a big challenge for this imaging modality. To deal with this problem, photoacoustic tomography was developed. Photoacoustic microscopy (PAM) is one of the implementation. This report describes the principals and the image processing involved in PAM.
