Road accidents had been rapidly increased throughout the years due to driver neglection while driving on the road. Therefore, it is important to have a system that can reduce the accident from happening. The aims for this project is to develop an application that can monitor driver’s status while they are driving, and activate the system when the camera sensor detect the driver is not paying attention so that it can save the driver in time and not causing any harm to the public. In order to start working on this project many researches need to be done as to fully understand how the algorithms are works on the Kinect V2 and how the Kinect V2 can be applied to the real-time detection of the driver. For driver monitoring system, the main objective is to focus mainly on the driver faces expressions and head movement whether the drivers are paying attention while driving on the road. Hence, experiments need to be carried out to test the reliability of the system. For every project, there will be limitations need to be addressed and follow by future improvements of the system will be provided so that others can further improve on this project. With this project implemented to the car system, road accidents will tend to reduce as driver will be alert by the monitoring system when they are not paying attention while driving. Thus, this will not only save the lives of the driver but also others driver on the road as well.
