In this day and age where efficiently and simplicity are both emphasized on, wireless power transfer is becoming increasingly popular. Wireless power transfer is able to replace cables and batteries and still provide almost the same efficiency. Wireless power charging technology was actually in used in toothbrushes before it became popular for mobile devices. The easy and hassle free way of wireless charging allows simplicity when it comes to handling multiple devices. With wires, one power cord is only able to charge one device at a time. However, with wireless power transfer magnetic induction is used to charge the device. This allows multiple devices to be charged at the same time given a certain distance. This will greatly improve efficiency and reduce wastage of old wire cables and batteries. Besides wireless mobile chargers, hybrid cars are currently popular in the market due to it being cost efficient and environmental friendly. The reduced reliance on fuel can greatly decrease the greenhouse gases produced when burning the fuels. Therefore in this final year project, a wireless power transfer device is design with the aim to replace batteries in implantable devices. The report describes the process of building a wireless receiver circuit given different constraints and testing it with a micro pump. Despite being able to meet the objective, there are a few difficulties and limitations the circuit had during testing and more will be discussed in the report below.
