      Abstract
This report has summarized and showed what have been done during the whole process of this final year project. First of all, the motivations of studying and implementing photoacoustic imaging method were discussed. Followed by the understanding of fundamental principle and comparison of different type of photoacoustic modalities. Besides that, a laser driver circuit board was designed and fabricated. The board was then tested using Photon and MATLAB programming tools to generate photoacoustic effect experiment results. Furthermore, photoacoustic imaging experiments was conducted by implementing the imaging mechanism to generate the optimized high resolution imaging results. And then photoacoustic sensing experiments were also conducted to find out the relationship between photoacoustic signal strength and concentrations. Therefore, to verify the indirect method that detect low concentration biological analyses like glucose. Last but not least, by analyzing the applications and limitations of the existing photoacoustic imaging and sensing methods, the further development of the methods were discussed.
