dc.description.abstractGlobal Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) is a positioning system that provides autonomous geospatial positioning. Compared to hardware-based GNSS receivers, software-defined receivers offer flexibility and the ease of rapid prototyping. In this project, the acquisition stage of a software-defined GPS receiver shall be implemented and operated on the BeagleBone Black platform; a Linux-based development platform. The purpose of the acquisition stage is to determine the visible GPS satellites, coarse values of the carrier frequency, and the code phase of the signals.en_US
