      Abstract
Nowadays, the mobile social network became very popular in people’s daily life. It becomes a social tool for people to interact with their friends, share interests and find new friends. But sometimes it is very exhausting to spend time without sharing experiences with people who have similar tastes. Thus, profile matching techniques are used in many social platforms to offer users a more comfortable user experience. Profile matching is to gather users’ social profiles and compare them to find common attributes. Those users with same attributes are grouped together. Location-based services in social network attracted a lot of popularity in a short amount of time. People use it to find out their friend’s locations, share their own locations with friends, explore new places they are interested. This project, Interactive Mobile Profiler, develops a mobile application on Android platform called “Discovering”. It allows users to login with their Facebook accounts and provides their interest areas such as “art” and “technology”. Users then are able to discover the events happening in Singapore that fit their interest areas. Users can also discover their friends who also share the similar interests with them and also nearby them. Users can choose to invite them to the events and achieve a more comfortable experience with friends who have similar tastes. The project built on Android platform and integrate with various APIs and services such as Facebook API, Google API, Amazon Web Services and Amazon Dynamo DB.
