Climate change is likely to produce more severe and violent storms in the future. The threat of flooding is also very likely to rise in tandem with the increased severity and frequency of these storms. This is especially so in urbanized areas where soil has been moved in place of roads and pavement, amongst many other reasons. The surge in new mathematical algorithms and rainfall models has seen to it that more studies and research has been done into this area, churning out interesting insights and predictions. This report will discuss some of the connections between climate change, urbanization and flood risk. It will also cover some of the research that has already been done and will go through one of the simulation models that we have put together.
