dc.description.abstractTo build an efficient power converter, especially for a brushless DC motor, this report will look into details the suitable gate driver that will drive the IGBT/MOSFET and isolation circuit that will act as an isolation from the input to the output. Bootstrap supply circuit will also be considered as the driver requires the bootstrap capacitor to charge in order to provide the correct bias to the high side MOSFET/IGBT. For the isolation circuit, it will further look into depth the different kinds of isolation driver circuit. MATLAB and ControlDesk® Next Generation will be utilized for simulation purposes.en_US
