歌苓是当代中国华文文坛中深具影响力的作家之一，她的小说综合了不同艺术媒介之长，具有独树一帜的叙事风格。严歌苓的小说被频繁改编搬上荧幕, 从最初的《天浴》夺得金马奖七项大奖的一鸣惊人起, 严歌苓的文学作品便引起了各大导演的广泛关注，并且在被张艺谋改编拍摄的影视作品，《归来》的播映后再次达到顶峰。本文将研究为何严歌苓的小说能够在影视圈不断掀起改编热潮，同时将以严歌苓的文本纳入到“跨媒介”视野下进行深入解读，以《陆犯焉识》与其改编影视作品《归来》为分析文本。通过将小说与其他媒介形式进行对照，本文除了探讨严歌苓小说中的艺术特征，也将深入挖掘其中的文学性功能及审美意义。本文引入“跨媒介”视野对严歌苓小说进行解读，旨在通过新的视角对严歌苓小说的影视改编进行深入探究，为严歌苓研究开辟一条新的路径。Yan Geling is one of the most influential writers in the literary landscape of contemporary Chinese literature, where her works encompass multifarious artistic features, demonstrating a distinctive narrative characteristic. Her works are often adapted and directed into movie productions, in which one of her earliest works “TianYu” had won seven honorable awards from the Golden Horse Film Festival. Her works also garnered attention from acclaimed directors, where the novel “The Prisoner Called Yanshi Lu” gained extensive recognition after it was adapted and directed by Zhang Yimou. Therefore this thesis aims to explore the reasons for her success that sparked off a furore for adaptations of her works within the entertainment industry, at the same time using a trans-media perspective to analyse the novel “The Prisoner Called Yanshi Lu” and the adapted film “Coming Home”. Using the above novel to compare with other media platforms, this thesis shall examine her unique artistic features, and uncover the significance of the literary function as well as the aesthetic value within her novels. It also aims to introduce the trans-media perspective along with an avant-garde standpoint to gain an in-depth understanding of the artistic features in her novels, unraveling a new prospect towards her literary works.
