Performance analysis of ejector based vapour compression refrigeration system

With the rapid development of society, the shortage of energy and pollution of the environment have become more serious. The automobile industry is primarily an energy consuming one, where each modern automobile is equipped with an air conditioning system for comfort. The air conditioning systems in automobiles consumes more engine power, which results in the increase of oil consumption. For energy saving, many researchers put their attention on the recovery and utilization of automobile waste heat. Therefore, the project named as "Performance Analysis of an Ejector Based Vapour Compression Refrigeration System" is proposed for energy saving and exhaust emission. This kind of refrigeration system consists of two branches, a traditional vapour compression cycle and an ejector driven cycle, which introduces an ejector to compress the refrigerant vapour. In this dissertation, we designed a hybrid structure for ejector based vapour compression refrigeration system and carried out various experiments to predict the system performance on the test platform. Finally, the experimental results show that the ejector based refrigeration cycle has better system performance compared to traditional refrigeration cycle under different operating pressure and temperature. This can be further applied to automobile industry for waste heat recovery and energy efficiency.
