The anatomy of our body has always been a concern and many studies have been done to show how biomechanics can help to further improve an injured body especially the spine. The spine is the frame for supporting our body upright and it is open to many other injuries due to bending and compression by daily activities. In this report, there will be parts of spine mentioned and how these parts could affect our daily lives. Further in this report, it demonstrates how a 2-deminisonal (2D) finite element model of the cervical spine based on the X-ray image is achieve by using ScanIP and ANSYS. Lastly, procedures of creating the model and achieving the deformation and von mises stress will be touched on in this report.
