      Abstract
Over the last few years, the relatively new concept of ‘Sinophone’ has significantly grown to become one of the most commonly used platform as well as methodology for the studies of Chinese literature. Thus, it is both necessary and important to learn and appreciate the concept behind of Sinophone and the theory. Professor Shu-mei Shih and David Der-wei Wong are presently recognized amongst the most distinguished and dedicated academic writers in the concept and promotion of Sinophone. There has however been a certain degree of variation between the interpretations of the writes, due to differences in the strategies adopted and personal cultural stances. The purpose of this article is to compare the views of both Shu-mei Shih and David Der-wei Wong, and create a discussion based on how the two differing stances converses while not antagonizing each other.
