High peak power fiber laser attracts significant interests among researchers world round for its potential applications in industry fabrication, bio-medical treatment, ultra-fast spectroscopy, metrology, communication, remote sensing, and material processing, etc. Among various technologies applicable to achieve high peak power laser sources, passively mode locking fiber lasers are promising candidates because of their simplicity, tunablity and ulatrashort pulse operation. Also, due to its all fiber structure, different from the bulky free-space optics, it is anticipated to achieve the high peak power fiber lasers with low cost, light and compact, alignment hassle free and sustainable without an active cooling mechanism. Although this type of lasers have been intensively studied, many mechanisms are still not very clear especially the fiber nonlinearity.
