dc.description.abstractEver since the founding of remote control system, it has changed our ways of living for the better. This break through has also brought upon numerous contributions to the technological field which is very crucial in today’s economy and industries. A remote control system consists of a receiver and one or many transmitter(s). The transmitter sends a signal to the receiver and in turn operates the desired function. The effective distance ranges from a couple of meters to over thousands of meters depending on the type of transmission used. Remote control system not only makes our lives more convenient (e.g. saving effort to walk back and forth just to turn on or off the television, change channels, adjusting volumes of speakers, etc), but also saves us a lot of time, money and effort when rectifying and troubleshooting crucial problems (e.g. rectifying power failures immediately anywhere without travelling to the job site, controlling CCTV cameras and scanning through video data without going to the company, etc.) When dealing with remote control systems, we can classify them into 2 broad categories which are the domestic and commercial field. In this project, I will be focusing on domestic remote control systems.en_US
