      Abstract
An online survey (n=350) was conducted across Singapore age 18 and above. The data from the survey was aimed to examine the extent and pattern of gambling, determine the relationship between family reactions towards one’s gambling behaviour, establish a linkage between gambling and associated level of happiness, assess the emotional responses of gamblers towards monetary gains from game play and finally, to analyze the various channel of support available for gamblers. Analysis shows that the extent and pattern of gambling is influenced by the demographics, family responses, motivations, perception of gambling effects and individual risk profile. Family and friends are found to play a critical role in influencing gambling behaviour and to whom they will turn to when in need. The motivations for gambling were found to associate with the level of happiness of individuals. Also, net loss was observed to have a greater impact on gamblers emotions than net winnings.
