Water is a vital component to human activity and a nation’s success and survival thrives on the availability of water supply. Since independence, the rapid increase in Singapore’s population and rising commercial activities have seen the domestic and industrial demand for water have increased by almost five times. It is important that a viable and sustainable water supply is in place to keep up with the growing demand so as to ensure the nation’s continual success.
