Abstract

Function generator is essential equipment that all students in the field of electronic will be using in their laboratory. However, all the function generator used in our school laboratory are fine tuned by hand and it requires much effort to get to 100% accuracies as slight tuning of the variable resistor will trigger a large change in the frequency of the output waveform. The fine tuning is actually done by a variable resistor and over the years, students tuning the function generator in every lab causes the variable resistor to be very loose and even a slightest touch on the resistor will cause the output frequency to change.
