This thesis analyzes the impact of Confucius Institute on China’s soft power from the angle of the way to enhance soft power, cultural diplomacy and the problems which Confucius Institute are facing. Countries all along the world have been using Soft Power as a measure of national strength and international status of a major standard since the theory was created by Joseph Nye. The Chinese government popularizes Chinese cultural, improves China’s image and Soft Power through the establishment of Confucius Institutes. We will learn the influential of official cultural diplomacy through the comparison with the United State of America public pop culture. Besides, the impact of Confucius Institutes on China’s soft power is also introduced in this thesis from the aspect of Confucius Institute’s courses provided. Confucius Institutes have the advantages in professional language and cultural teaching under the promotion of Chinese government. However, they are also facing some disadvantages for example the China Treat Theory, the shortage of teaching staff and capital, and the lack of experiences.
