The focus of this thesis is to study into the use of multisector system and sensor fusion techniques for an autonomous mobile robot. Emphasis is placed on using a multisensor system, which comprises if laser scanners, stereo camera, dead-reckoning sensors to build a world model, in which all other basic functions of robot navigation can make use of.
