Automatic prostate boundary recognition in ultrasound images.

This thesis describes the research and development of a boundary recognition system for transrectal prostate ultrasound images, aiming to achieve high robustness and speed. This research adopted model-based boundary identification scheme, which has been widely accepted in the boundary identification community for its robustness. It consists of two techniques: boundary modeling and searching with model constraints.
