The first objective of this thesis is to examine the importance of reactive power transmission pricing in the open transmission access (OTA) environment. Traditionally, the DC-OPF model is widely used due to its attractive property of simplicity. However, this gives rise to the problem that the impact of reactive power on the pricing rules as a whole to be ignored. (Asst. Professor Lie Tek Tjing)
