Virtual sound imaging system.
Date of Issue2003
School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering
Virtual Sound Imaging allows user to perceive sound at location other than the actual source position. It has been applied to many areas, including home entertainment, flight simulation and virtual reality. Signal processing techniques are required to reproduce the signal as if it is being played back from different location, by processing of Head Related Transfer Function (HRTF) so that perceptually irrelevant features are removed.
