This study investigated environmental scanning initiatives undertaken by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Singapore. Findings showed that task environment information and competitive intelligence were the most important to the firms. It is suggested that SMEs can benefit by engaging in more systematic scanning and adapting to recent technological developments.
