Abstract
This report represents the experiences gained by the author throughout the Final Year Project in Nanyan Technological University. It also describes the details of the System level modeling for simulation of delta-sigma (ΔΣ) modulator project assigned to the author.
The purpose of this project is to use Matlab and Simulink to do the behavioral simulation of ΔΣ modulator and quantify the modulator performance. Both discrete time and continuous time sigma-delta modulator non-idealities will be discussed and simulated.
In this project, first the ΔΣ modulators are introduced in details, including the architecture, performance metrics and basic blocks as well for both continuous-time and discrete-time ΔΣ modulator. After that several of non-idealities for both continuous-time and discrete-time ΔΣ modulators are explained in details. Finally a lot of models for simulating these non-idealities are built by using MatLab SIMULINK. And the simulation results also have been discussed.
