Impact of online learning : a case study of the Temasek business school VBUS project.

This study attempts to examine the roles that online learning have to offer through a case study - Temasek Polytechnic, in particular, If online learning is perceived as useful when it comes to helping students prepare tor their studies. Based on a questionnaire survey administered to a sample of 657 Year 1 students from the Temasek Business School, the results showed that a typical student spent about 4-6 hours per week studying for the 6 subjects in class, of which less than 2 hours were spent on the core subject-Computer Fundamentals. The typical student also claimed that beyond school hours, less than 2 hours was spent on the Internet, of which VBUS servers was accessed 3 to 4 times a week, with each session's duration lasting between 15-30 minutes. Students mostly used VBUS to download lecture notes and materials.
