The microstrip antenna offers the advantages of low profile, lightweight, low cost, flexibility in design and conformability to a shaped surface and compatibility with integrated circuits. The major drawback of the microstrip antenna is the narrow bandwidth. It is a major obstacle that restricts its widespread use. This report starts off with an introduction on the background and the objectives of this FYP. Next, the initial preparation made will be on the simulation of the “Novel Broadband Microstrip-FED Wide Slot antenna with Double Rejection Zeros”. Many simulation works have been evaluated to try to achieve the maximum bandwidth between the slot and the strip resonators can be achieved. At the end of this project, I would be able to achieve a better bandwidths compared to the original experiment mentioned above. The overall requirement is to achieve a slot antenna array with reasonably wide bandwidth; good return loss, good directivity, symmetrical radiation pattern and even power distribution to each of the individual element. Finally, the outcome of this work demonstrates a capability in achieving a wider bandwidth of 4.2GHz to 6.6 GHz.
