This study’s main objective is to address the limited research on cross-informant consistency between caregivers and teachers on specific internalizing problem behaviours. Gender differences in mothers’ and teachers’ ratings were also examined. Consistent with previous research, greater cross-informant consistency was found for informants’ ratings on broadband externalizing problems than internalizing problems. Contrary to past findings, boys and girls were not rated differently by mothers and teachers for both internalizing and externalizing problems. For specific internalizing problems, there was greater cross-informant consistency between informants when rating withdrawn syndrome than anxious/depressed and somatic complaints syndromes. No significant gender difference was observed for informants’ ratings on all syndromes. Research and clinical implications of this study’s findings were discussed.
