      Abstract
Home is a place where we all return to rest and relax. However, being in a patriarch society, females are burden with dual roles- the role of the wife and that of the working woman. They will still have to prepare dinner after a day of work. Hence, much stress is induced with the responsibility of these roles. Therefore, it is common to find the wife busy preparing meals in the kitchen while the husband is watching television programmes in the living room. Furthermore, kitchens are normally designed with the user facing the wall, thus limiting the area of interaction. This then further isolates the user from the fun and the entertainment that is commonly taking place behind or in the living room. This project looks at how we can enhance the stressful environment of the kitchen to make it more pleasurable to cook in and improve the interaction spaces of the kitchen environment. This then allows the users to be part of the activities they are usually not involved in and in turn aims to encourage the sharing of chores at home. This will then leads to the increased intimacy in the couples.
