Blitzkrieg followed by prolonged post war engagement : the epitome of future wars?

The recent war in Iraq holds many a lesson for war planners and policy makers. Why did the exorbitant amount of precision guided missiles, satellite technology, space technology and secret edge technology invested in pursuing the war not solve the problem and bring about a lasting peace? The answer lies within the Remarkable Trinity. Until and unless the increasingly powerful and unpredictable “people” sphere receives enough attention and has a resolution; as a result of globalization, the epitome of future wars would be that of an initial blitzkrieg followed by prolonged postwar engagement.
