The consistent delivery of stellar economic performances and the predisposition of the populace towards communitarianism have legitimatised the rule of PAP-led Singapore government for decades. However, the vagaries and impacts of globalization have forced the Singapore government to reexamine its approach towards the formulation of the public policies. The dominance of the Singapore government in the economy, which used to go unchallenged, would need to accommodate diversity for rejuvenation in the face of dynamic global competitors. Long-tied to the aprons of the paternalistic Singapore government, the citizens are waking up vaguely to the fact that ideas and penchant for risks are prized assets in the globalizing economy.
