      Abstract
      Survey and analysis of results was conducted to identify the effectiveness of taxation in curbing smoking, as perceived by young adults of age between 18-24 years.Findings include differences in perception, correlation of the influence of pricing and various factors like socio-economic characteristics and age of intitiation and the percieved effectiveness of taxation as compared to other factors like pressure from loved ones and health campaigns.
